Public philosophy takes many forms - philosophy for/with children, philosophy in prisons, ethics consulting, collaborations with policymakers, philosophical counseling, and more. One variety of public philosophy is writing for a general audience. Below is a partial list of outlets that regularly publish philosophy for a general audience. Before submitting any piece for publication, make sure to get a sense of their audience and the sorts of public philosophy they have published in the past. For more tips about public philosophy writing, check out the video from PPN’s 2020 workshop “How to Write Philosophy Op-Eds.” (For Andrew Lavin’s comprehensive list of philosophy of podcasts, see here.)
