Call for Proposals:

Global Perspectives on Public Philosophy

June 19th-21st, 2026

The Public Philosophy Network is hosting an online mini-conference from June 19th to June 21st, 2026 on the subject of Global Perspectives on Public Philosophy. The conference will address such questions as:

  • What new forms is public philosophy taking across the globe?

  • What opportunities and challenges do different cultural and national contexts present for public philosophers?

  • How can public philosophers bring together communities across national, cultural, and political divides?

  • What forms of global solidarity between public philosophers are most needed now?

We welcome proposals from public philosophers working across borders, with indigenous communities, or outside of Anglo North America. Proposals can be for individual presentations, panel discussions, or skill-building workshops. In particular, we welcome argumentative presentations on any topic in the theory and practice of public philosophy, discussions of qualitative and quantitative empirical work on the impacts of public philosophy projects, and reports of innovative and outstanding public philosophy projects.

The conference will be free for PPN members and “pay what you can” for non-members.

Abstracts should be submitted via this Google Form. The deadline for submissions is March 1st, 2026.

Questions about the conference or the submissions process should be emailed to PPN President Ian Olasov (ianolasov@gmail.com).
